Registered Apprentice Standards

On June 17, 2020, the Office of Apprenticeship (OA) Administrator officially approved the National Guidelines for Apprenticeship Standards submitted by the National Association of Workforce Development Professionals (NAWDP). These guidelines serve as a national model for establishing local Registered Apprenticeship Programs (RAPs) under the oversight of either the Office of Apprenticeship (OA) or a State Apprenticeship Agency (SAA).

The approved occupation is Workforce Development Professional (existing title: Workforce Development Specialist), aligned with O*NET-SOC Code 13-1151.00 and RAPIDS Code 2042CB. This milestone marks a formal recognition of the profession within the apprenticeship system, providing a structured pathway for training and certifying individuals to meet the evolving demands of workforce development.
