Bio:

Bill is currently the Director of Workforce Development Operations for the MassHire South Shore Workforce Board; prior he was an eight-year member of the Board of Directors for the same organization. His responsibilities are comprehensive and include: (1) analysis of workforce development needs in the twenty-two cities and towns within the Service Delivery area; (2) implementation of appropriate workforce development activities and training programs in conjunction with businesses, education and training providers, and governmental and non-profit entities; (3) collaboration with and oversight of the MassHire South Shore Career Center that provides career counseling, support services, job fairs, and links to employment opportunities for eligible job seekers; and (4) collaboration with colleagues regarding funding sources and Labor Market Information.

Bill’s employment history over several decades includes leadership positions in Human Resources/Labor Relations for leading global, national, and regional corporations and organizations in the following industries: manufacturing, healthcare, construction/general contracting, retail/supermarkets, communications/technology, and government/non-profit. In addition, he works as a faculty member in the Department of Management for Bridgewater State University’s undergraduate and MBA programs. Other positions in higher education include Management faculty for Bryant University, and both dean of Professional Programs and management faculty for a local community college. He is also the Principal of a consulting company that focuses on human resources and labor relations for small businesses.

With respect to educational credentials, Bill has earned the following: B.A. in Political Science from Providence College; Master in Public Administration from Suffolk University, M.S, in Applied Management from Lesley University, and is a Certified as a Senior Professional in Human Resources. In addition, he is a Certified Trainer through Development Dimensions International in ‘Leadership/Interaction Management’, and has been trained by the Gallup Organization to implement the ‘Strengths Finder’ assessment tool.

His membership affiliations to professional and community organizations include: South Shore Chamber of Commerce and former Co-Chair of the HR Advisory Group, Society for Human Resource Management, Northeast Human Resources Association, and Smaller Business Association of New England. He spent over ten years in youth athletics as coach in hockey, baseball, and soccer for boys and girls.
