NAWDP's 2019 Annual Conference will be held from May 6-8 in San Antonio, TX.


For nearly 30 years, workforce development professionals have gathered at NAWDP's Annual Conference to:


  • enhance and maintain their skills through continuing education;
  • network with peers, mentors and leaders;
  • share ideas, experiences and metrics about promising practices; and
  • discover new and innovative programs, products and services. 


Participants represent the full range of career experience in the industry, from senior leaders to entry-level employees, and they hale from every corner of the country and every segment of the industry.  NAWDP's Annual Conference has become the largest gathering of workforce development industry representatives, with over 1,000 attendees and 40 exhibitors each year, and we are still growing!


Why?  Because this conference offers something for every workforce development professional:

»     Five tracks of continuing education workshops, featuring basic, intermediate and advanced content:

1.     Business Services Track addressing the needs of individuals who work with employers or supervise staff who work with employers across all partner organizations, including Sales Techniques, On-the-Job Training, Work-Based Learning, Creating Integrated Business Services Teams, Sector Strategies, Apprenticeships.

 2.     Job Seeker Services Track, addressing the needs of individuals and their supervisors who work with adults and dislocated workers including target populations for the purpose of preparing them to get a job and to keep a job, including Client Eligibility, Assessment, Creating an Elevator Speech, Case Notes, Supportive Services, Career Pathways, Interviewing Techniques.

 3.     Youth Services Track, addressing the needs of individuals and their supervisors who work with youth including target populations for the purpose of assisting them with education and work, including Work Experience, Individual Employment Plans, Creating Meaningful Work Experience Sites, Individual Service Strategies, Pre-Apprenticeships.

 4.     Management Services Track, addressing the needs of individuals who provide management services such as fiscal, monitoring, quality assurance, supervision, and executive leadership, including  Leadership development seminars, fiscal management guidance, One-Stop Operator roles and responsibilities, Local Workforce Board support, monitoring considerations, quality assurance models.

 5.  Workforce Professional General Track, addressing general skills and knowledge, broadly applicable to any workforce development professional, including One-Stop Center customer flow, WIOA legislative sessions, CWDP how-to-apply, motivational seminars, partner relations, creating a career portfolio, grant writing, fundraising.

»     Regional focus groups to surface emerging issues, concerns and needs impacting the workforce development industry;

»     A vibrant exhibit hall featuring innovative products and services addressing key challenges in the industry;

»     Multiple networking and social opportunities; and

»     General session content ranging from policy news and developments, to panel discussions around critical challenges, to motivational content that gives every professional a boost in their daily efforts.
