At the National Association of Workforce Development Professionals (NAWDP), our members are at the heart of everything we do. Whether you’re a longtime professional in the field or just beginning your workforce development journey, we’re here to support your growth, connection, and impact.
This Membership FAQ page is designed to answer your most common questions about joining NAWDP, understanding your benefits, managing your membership, and making the most of your experience.
The National Association of Workforce Development Professionals (NAWDP) is the leading membership association for individuals who work in the workforce development field. We enrich the workforce development community by connection and advancing workforce professionals and through building innovative partnerships.
Based on our three pillars of persistence advocacy, financial stewardship, and resilient professionals; we seek to contribute to the workforce development industry through strategic advocacy activities and assist with building long-term professionals within the industry.
We serve professionals across the public, private, nonprofit, and education sectors who support job seekers and businesses through employment, training, and economic development services.

Anyone working in or connected to the workforce development system can join NAWDP. This includes career and guidance counselors, case managers, business service representatives, job developers, training providers, administrators, program managers and directors, workforce data analysts, executive directors, workforce development boards, and more.
NAWDP offers several membership types:
- Individual Membership – For single professionals. These can be purchased in timeframes of 1 year, 3 years, or 5 years.
- Group Membership – For organizations purchasing membership for multiple individuals
- Lifetime Membership– For those with a long-term commitment to workforce development.
*Membership benefits do not differ based on member types

GROUP MEMBERSHIP PRICING
PLEASE NOTE: Each group has a designated Group Manager. There is no separate charge for designated Group Managers, however this person can also be a paid group member. Group Managers are responsible for maintaining accurate records of group members, payment of group invoices, etc. on behalf of the group.

Absolutely! NAWDP welcomes professionals at all stages of their careers—from seasoned leaders to those just entering the field. Membership is a great way to build your knowledge, connect with others, and access tools and resources to grow your expertise.
Joining NAWDP is easy! Simply visit the Join/Renew webpage and choose the membership type that best fits your needs. NAWDP memberships follow an annual cycle from July 1 to June 30. All memberships are renewed on this schedule, regardless of when you join.
Yes! NAWDP offers discounted group membership rates for organizations enrolling five or more staff. You can also take advantage of additional savings when purchasing a 3-year, 5-year, or Lifetime membership.
Yes, individual memberships are fully transferable with you if you change employers. If your membership is part of a group account, your membership seat will remain with the organization.
While NAWDP does not issue physical membership cards, members receive a welcome email confirming membership status. A virtual membership card can be found by logging into our membership portal and navigating to “Payments and History” on the left menu pane, clicking on “Membership” in the gray menu, and “View/ Print My Membership Card”.
NAWDP offers a variety of professional development opportunities, including:
- Monthly “30 Minutes of Excellence” webinars featuring timely workforce topics
- Discounted access to specialized training academies and national conferences
- A growing on-demand learning library accessible on our YouTube channel
- Resources to earn and maintain your Certified Workforce Development Professional (CWDP) credential.
These opportunities help members stay current, grow their expertise, and advance in their careers.
Yes! NAWDP members have access to virtual and in-person networking events, opportunities to connect and engage with colleagues from across the country at conferences and training sessions. These connections help build community and share best practices across the field.
Members are encouraged to get involved through:
- Contributing to weekly newsletters, blogs, or written publications.
- Serving on NAWDP’s Board of Directors or other committees.
- Moderating or presenting at an in-person conference or virtual event.
- Participating in surveys and thought leadership activities.
- Acting as a voice to share membership needs or suggestions.
