What is your vision for the workforce development profession?

To create clear paths for adults to have access to a good education and a great job.  Helping to address barriers that stop people from continuing their education.

Do you have a particular interest area or passion in workforce development?

I love helping youth and adults to achieve their career goals. Helping to create a clear path to an education and assisting in eliminating  barriers along the way. Working with employers to identify their employment needs and connecting them with the talent they need.

Why do you want to serve on the Board?

I believe my 25 plus years of experience in higher education and workforce development could be beneficial to the region that I serve.  I think learning from others is the best way to build successful sustainable programs. I could also be a voice for my region on important initatives and legislation that effect our industry.

What do you think is the biggest challege facing the profession today and how can NAWDP address that challenge?

Funding and creating sustainable programs  is certainly a challenge for many.  NAWDP has the history and the respect in the industry to elevate the voices of all workforce professionals in advocating for more funding.
