2007 NAWDP Awards for the Advancement of the Profession
These awards are presented to individual professionals who exhibit exceptional leadership qualities in one of the following four areas.
Professional Development Award
This award recognizes individuals who have been instrumental in designing and implementing professional development initiatives that enhance the knowledge, skills and competencies of workforce development professionals. Eligible individuals may be involved in curriculum development, professional credentialing, staff training, staff evaluation, incentives, needs assessment and/or related areas.
Sar Levitan Advancing the Research Agenda Award
This award recognizes individuals whose work has enhanced workforce practices and professional standards through research and evaluation. Eligible individuals may be engaged in the design and conduct of research and evaluation, serve as a catalyst of research and evaluation, or have made significant contributions through dissemination or use of research and evaluation.
Jodi Spiegel Enhancement of Customer Service Award
This award recognizes individuals who directly affect the customers of the workforce development system through enhanced assessment strategies, customer focused procedures, case management systems, and related services. Eligible individuals are front-line personnel working directly with jobseekers or employers.
Tom Ahlers System Building Award
This award recognizes individuals who have made significant contributions to the profession through the development or enhancement of workforce systems, or the building of strategic alliances and partnerships. Eligible individuals may work at any level of the workforce system, whether board or partner, management, support personnel, or front-line worker, to put together resources for high quality, measurable and effective services.
