As the national professional association representing the field of workforce development, NAWDP has defined ten core competencies that one must have in order to call oneself a "Workforce Development Professional."
NAWDP also has defined basic workforce development competencies in four Specialty Areas: Business & Employer Services, Job Seeker Services, Management Services, and Youth Services.
